Las Tortugas
Las Tortugas, Located in the main house with a west-facing patio is great for watching sunsets. It is decorated in Southwestern colors and features antique furniture. There is a desk for paperwork, and the sound of the fountain from the main courtyard can be heard from both the patio and the room. The room is another pet friendly place, where four-legged guests will find treats waiting for them.
Tortugas has a CD player and a TV. There is a long expanse of bathroom counter to spread out belongings. There are comfy bathrobes in each room to snuggle up with a good book or a good travel partner on chilly winter nights. While this room is in the main house, guests come and go through their private patio door.
The sunsets in New Mexico are some of the best around. The patio for this room offers a great vista of the mesa as the colors of the sky change from blue to orange to purple.
Just outside the gate of the courtyard is the expansive area of open desert, with arroyos and mesas, and views of the area that are stunning. The stillness and quiet of the rural surroundings provide a wonderful rest after the end of a long cross-country trek or a hectic work day. You can watch the quail and jack rabbits feeding and meet Clyde, our resident Roadrunner who roosts in the rafters of the patio cover.
Each room has its own heating/cooling unit, so you can be cool as a cucumber or warm as toast. There are also ceiling fans in each room.
High speed wireless internet access now makes the rest of the world easily available. There is a large common living room area just outside the interior door of Tortugas, where guests can read something from our library, play chess, darts or a multitude of other games.
Casa de Sueños is a convenient central location for interesting day trips throughout this part of the Southwest. See our Day Trip section for ideas of what to do in the area.

Rates: The Rate for the Las Tortugas room is $100 per night, double occupancy - inclusive of a full cooked breakfast. There is a $10/person fee for additional guests. Business and military discounts are available, as well as discounts for stays of 4 days and over.
Reservation & Cancellation policies: If you need to cancel your reservation, please call us 10 days in advance and your deposit will be refunded, less a $15 processing fee. If you need to cancel or shorten your stay with less than 10 days notice, please understand that you will be held responsible for your entire reservation cost. You will be given a gift certificate for the unused portion of your stay, which can be used (subject to availability), within four (4) months of your canceled reservation.
Children: Children over 12 are welcome. An additional fee will apply for extra persons.
Pets: Well mannered pets are allowed with prior permission in Tortugas and Oso, Pets are never to be left alone in the room or on the private patios. There is a one time per stay fee of $15 for a pet. Pet owners are responsible for damage caused by pets. Extra fees will be assessed for cleaning or if needed, replacement of furnishings. A contract will be signed at the time of check-in.
Smoking: All rooms and common areas are non-smoking, but the outdoor courtyards and patios do have smoking facilities. An extra cleaning fee will be charged for anyone smoking in the rooms.
Check in/out times: Check-in is at 3:30PM and check-out is 11:AM.
